Can anyone update our club’s page?
You will have a username and password to access the form, which allows changes to be made to your club’s page. You are responsible for your own username and password. These can be changed if you believe someone has found them out. If you have forgotten your username and password, drop us an e mail and we will send it out to you. Generally you will nominate one of your members to be responsible for updating/maintaining your page. Costa Blanca Clubs cannot take responsibility for any changes made to your page when the correct Username and Password have been used.
How do I delete my club’s listing?
Clubs can only be deleted by the moderator of the site. If you would like your club removed from the site please send an e-mail to cbc@themediavenue.com.
Is it really free?
Yes it really is free. You will not be asked at any time for any payment to list your club, nor will you be asked to validate any information with a credit card.
Ok so it really is free, what do you get out of it then?
Revenue will be generated from the site by selling advertising whether through banners or the “All Costa Blanca” listing. However, we do guarantee that any advertising will not detract from the main reason for the site, namely your club’s listing, and that only companies, which for fill our own moral code, will be permitted to advertise.
What sort of thing will be advertised?
The companies we are hoping will advertise are specifically targeting their goods and services at the ex pat community. The emphasis is on quality of service and where possible having the ability to communicate in English. We also hope they will have special offers to members of Costa Blanca Clubs.
Our club meets on more than one night a week, how do I show that on my listing?
The section which covers the time of the meeting on the application form has been left purposefully vague and will allow you to enter the information that pertains to your club. However if your club meets more than once a week but with different people attending we would recommend you treat this as two separate listings.
Will there be any advertising on our club listing page?
We are looking at the possibility of allowing advertisers who are relevant to certain types of clubs to advertise on individual club pages. An example of this may be a sports equipment retailer who might have an advert on all club’s pages who have a link to sporting activities. At present the website is not geared up to handle this type of advertising and a few kinks have to be ironed out before we implement such a scheme. Clubs who do not want any targeted advertising on heir page would have the option to opt out. Watch this space we will inform you of any changes.
Can we advertise an event put on by our club to all users of the website?
The simple answer to this is yes. Obviously you can put any information on your own page but if you would like something on the News section the front page let us know and we will see what we can do. We do reserve the right to restrict clubs to two free adverts in this area a year. Any submissions can be sent to cbc@themediavenue.com or phone us on 966896769. You are welcome to take out a banner advert as well but this would have to be paid for, although we will give you a slight discount if your club is a member of the site.
We are having a cabaret night in our bar; can that be listed?
Generally the answer to this would be no, for two reasons. Firstly this is not an events website, therefore the bar would have to be listed as the club. Secondly commercial activities should be listed through the “All Costa Blanca” area information section of the site not through the clubs. Something like a pub league darts team could be listed as long as the listing was for the team not the bar.
Is it true we can earn money back for our club?
Yes. If you introduce any companies to the site and they take a year’s contact to advertise on the site, we will donate 10% of their advertising fee (before tax) to your club.
Can we find out how many people have looked at out club’s profile page?
Yes. We are happy to supply you with monthly statistics of how many hits your page has had. We also give the administrator of the club, which has the most hits in a month, a bottle of champagne or box of chocolates.
What further developments do you have planned?
We have a number of thoughts about additions to the website. These include additional advertising opportunities, forms and blogs. If you have a suggestion let us know.
What is “All Costa Blanca”?
All Costa Blanca will be a printed guide featuring a lot of the companies listed on the Costa Blanca Clubs site. Any clubs listed on the site will have a free entry in the clubs listing of the publication.
